In 2015, V Strategies Inc., a Calgary based video agency created the In It Together campaign in response to the downturn in the energy industry. We were tired of all of the negative talk in the media and the community about the price of oil and the economy and so we thought that it was time to turn the tables on the situation and focus on solutions.
Here we are in 2020 facing the COVID-19 crisis. A crisis that is bringing the world to its knees. Companies of all sizes are being impacted. People are losing their jobs and businesses are shutting down at unprecedented rates. The long term fall out from this is unknown but what we do know is that it will pass and we need to stick together to overcome this challenging time.
On April 9, 2020 we relaunched the In It Together website with a focus on the current COVID-19 crisis wanting to pull together our business community. We are reaching out to business and community leaders to encourage them to share videos providing ideas, tips and words of encouragement.
This is an opportunity for us to show our support and solidarity with each other as Albertans and as Canadians. Once the threat passes we must find ways to get our lives back to normal, create jobs and get our economy back on track.
We believe that Pareto’s 80/20 principle plays a vital role in our current environment in that most people spend 80% of the time talking about the problem and 20% on the solution. We want to reverse this thinking and get people focused on solutions for dealing with this crisis. We want to pull our community together and support one another.
Why Are We Doing This?
Now, more than ever, business leaders and entrepreneurs need support.
And now more than ever, Alberta needs strong entrepreneurial drive and impactful business leadership.
There will be more layoffs, cutbacks and business failures. People will face hard times and we need to pull together and support each other. We felt it was important to provide some hope for people and relieve some stress if only for a short period of time.
This is why we created the campaign.
Who’s Behind the Campaign
The In It Together campaign was started by Jeff Bradshaw but it was brought to life by the entire team at V, with the cooperation of various business organizations and all of those individuals who have participated so far.
